You met me at a very strange time in my life.

It's funny how such little things and words can make such a huge difference when it comes to your mood. Just the increased amount of sunlight can switch your mood from anxious and gloomy to calm and giggly. I love these mornings (yes, it's 2:30pm and it's still morning for me since I only woke up a couple hours ago) between fall and winter when it's cold but not yet freezing and the sunlight is just white enough, when there's a little snow on the ground and you only have to wear one pair of mittens when you step outside from your stuffy apartment. I've always been a nightowl and I do enjoy darkness (my old friend) and all kinds of nightly things but as a fan of extremes I have to admit I'd never survive if I didn't get to enjoy the exact opposite from time to time as well. In the cold light of morning while everyone is yawning, you’re high. Not literally this time.

Ability to enjoy all kinds of small things has always been one side of me I'll forever be thankful for. I can get really excited about a new song or artist I've found, the coconut smell of my body lotion, all the fallen leaves on the sidewalk, a bruise on my arm that reminds me of a moment I'd otherwise have forgotten already. I'm sad for people who never notice all those small details that make life worth living but constantly get stuck in the forever incomplete big picture. I'm sure I've many times started ranting about something with "there are bigger things in life than..." but maybe it's actually those little things that matter more sometimes.
